Frequently asked questions
Everything about HuntAtlas — for ranches and for hunters. Search or ask anything.
For ranches & outfitters
How much does listing my ranch cost?
Nothing. Listing is free with no fixed fees. We only charge a commission (typically 10%) when WE bring you a booking. If we bring you nothing, you pay nothing.
How do I get paid? Do you hold my money?
You control how you get paid and how much of a deposit you ask for — you set it in your listing. HuntAtlas offers escrow-protected payment as an OPTION to build trust with a hunter who doesn't know you yet, but you decide your deposit terms.
Why list if you're just starting?
Because you lose nothing: listing is free and non-exclusive. Being one of the first ranches gives you a visibility edge as hunters start searching. Our job is to bring you the demand.
Do I have to drop my other channels?
No. HuntAtlas isn't exclusive. Keep using what you already use; we only add new bookings on top.
How do I claim or edit my listing?
Sign in with one click using Google (or email), and from your dashboard you control photos, prices, seasons, availability and your listing status (published, paused, season closed, sold out).
What commission exactly do you charge?
Around 10% on the bookings we send you. It can be built into your price (the hunter covers it). No monthly or setup fees.
For hunters
What is HuntAtlas?
A marketplace to find and book hunting and shooting with verified ranches, outfitters and guides in Mexico and worldwide.
How do I book?
Search by destination/species/season, choose your package and book. Payment can be escrow-protected until you arrive, for your peace of mind.
Is it safe to pay here?
Escrow holds your payment and releases it to the operator when you arrive, protecting you against a ranch you don't know yet.
Payments, commissions & escrow
What is escrow?
A protected payment: the hunter's money is held and released to the operator per the agreed terms. It reassures new hunters; the operator sets their deposit.
When does the ranch get paid?
Per the terms the operator sets in their listing. Escrow is optional and configurable.
Does HuntAtlas charge the hunter extra?
There may be a small service fee; the operator's commission is usually included in the package price.
Legal & verification
Do you verify outfitters?
We work toward verifying operators and guides. Permits and paperwork (SEMARNAT/UMA/tags in Mexico, CITES) are the responsibility of the operator and hunter; we inform.
Does HuntAtlas handle permits or firearm transport?
No. We only inform; the paperwork and transport are the hunter's responsibility.
